Why India does NOT allow dual citizenship?

இந்தியா dual citizenship (இரட்டை குடியுரிமை) அனுமதிக்கவில்லை.

ஆனால் Indian-origin diasporaவுக்கு
OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India) என்ற வகை வழங்கப்படுகிறது.
இது *citizenship அல்ல*, ஆனால் "benefits + long-term visa status".

OCI கூட செய்ய முடியாத விஷயங்கள்

  1. Vote செய்ய முடியாது.
  2. Rajya Sabha / Lok Sabha உறுப்பினராக முடியாது.
  3. Govt jobs (IAS/IPS) கிடையாது.
  4. Agricultural land வாங்க முடியாது.

NRI – Who qualifies?

NRI = Resident outside India for 182+ days
but Indian citizen status தொடரும்.

Rights:

  • Vote (in person only)
  • Passport Indian
  • Full citizenship rights remain

Quick Check – OCI/PIO/NRI

OCIக்கு கிடைக்காத உரிமை எது?

  • Visa-free entry
  • Voting
  • Property purchase (non-agri)

Correct → Voting right இல்லை.

Simulation: Identify Category (OCI / NRI / Citizen)

Buttons: "Indian passport + lives in Dubai" / "US citizen with Indian-origin parents" / "Born in India, living abroad for 10 years" Output: 1 → NRI 2 → OCI eligible 3 → Indian citizen (until renounced)
